I
enjoy viewing this extensively traveled continent with blinders
on; focusing on the image and ignoring all distracting elements. My
shots are not excessively filtered or computer modified. What
you are seeing in the images actually exists if one knew where
to look and takes the time to see the texture, color, pattern and
composition which are the primary elements of my work.
Most of the images found here
were created in a calm environment far removed from the hordes. I
find these images a peaceful influence bringing memories of times
less hectic spent in places far away, where there are no clocks,
no deadlines and only the self-defined drive to find that unique
image.
I have accumulated two portfolios
of images, one aimed at the built environment from an architectural/
textural point of view and one not. These libraries mirror my professional life
which is divided between practicing forensic architecture and experiencing
photography. Whether I am backpacking away from civilization
or walking the canyons of Manhattan, my eye is exploring the creation
of a visually striking image.
I have been studying photography
since my years at Virginia Tech. I
have participated in courses with George Lepp, John Shaw and the
Nikon School.
I shoot exclusively with Nikon bodies: N8008S and D70
